This is the seat next to the Vice President. When a hotel is being renovated, repositioned, taken over, or dragged back up to standard, you are the person running it — the plan, the trades, the budget, the timeline, and the operating team who have to keep serving guests while you work around them.
You will not be handed a finished brief. You will be in the room when the decision gets made, and then you will own delivering it. That means real influence over what we do and no cover when it slips. If you want a job where the VP is a wall you throw work over, this is not it — you sit beside them.
What You'll Do
- Run hotel projects end to end. Renovations, rebrands, systems rollouts, and property takeovers. Scope, budget, schedule, trades, and the punch list at the end of it.
- Work directly with the Vice President. You are the person the VP hands a problem to. Expect daily contact, blunt feedback, and to be trusted with things that are not finished yet.
- Manage the operating teams through change. A property still has guests in it while you are working. You keep the GM and the department heads with you rather than working around them.
- Own the numbers on your projects. Build the budget, hold the line on it, and bring the variance to the table yourself before anyone has to ask.
- Hold vendors and contractors to what they signed. Scope creep and slipped dates are the two things that sink this work. Both are yours to prevent.
- Lift the standard permanently. Anything you fix should stay fixed after you leave the property. That means training, documentation, and a handover the team actually uses.
- Travel to Miami and Dallas when a project is live there. Typically a few days at a time, not weeks.
What We're Looking For
- 6 or more years in hotel operations, project management, or both. We care more about what you have delivered than the title you held while delivering it.
- You have run a project with a real budget and a real deadline and can talk through one that went badly as clearly as one that went well.
- Financial fluency. You can build a capital budget, read a P&L, and explain a variance without hiding in it.
- You can manage people who do not report to you. Most of this job is influence, not authority.
- Straight communication under pressure. When something slips, we want to hear it from you early and plainly.
- Comfortable being in the property. Hybrid means hybrid, not remote. When a project is live you are on site.
- Willing to travel to Miami and Dallas as projects require.
Do Not Count Yourself Out
If you do not tick every box up there, apply anyway. We would rather bring in someone who genuinely wants a better path and train them properly than hold out for the longest resume in the pile. Most of the people who have done well here did not arrive knowing everything.
Training is paid and it is part of the job, not a favor. Show up wanting to learn and we will do our part.
Nice to Have
- Experience with a hotel opening, conversion, or brand transition.
- Background across both hospitality operations and construction or capital projects.
- Familiarity with PMS platforms, brand standard programmes, and capital planning tools.
- Existing contractor or vendor relationships in the Austin market.
- A professional project management credential, though we care far more about the projects than the certificate.
Benefits & Growth
- Paid training. You are on the clock from day one while you learn the role. Nobody here is asked to get up to speed on their own time.
- 401(k). Retirement plan available to full-time employees.
- We promote from inside first. When a seat opens up we look at our own people before we post it anywhere. If you want a path, there is one here.
- Direct access to the owners. No layers between you and the people making the decisions.
Compensation & Details
This role pays $135,000 per year. It is full-time and based in Austin, TX on a hybrid schedule — in the office or on property when a project is live, flexible when it is not. Regular travel to Miami and Dallas is expected when projects are running there.
MC Luxe Holdings is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
How to Apply
The application below is deliberately demanding. This role carries real budget and sits next to the VP, so we ask more of applicants than we do elsewhere — including two written answers about work you have actually done. Give yourself about thirty minutes and do it properly. Short answers get read as a preview of how you would handle the job.
